Inside Current Issue: Publisher's Letter

Changes On the Way

As you may have noticed, there have been a few changes around here. First, Secure Convergence Journal is now IT Defense Magazine. Well … sort of.

To reflect the direction we are headed editorially, we made the change to IT Defense Magazine. This publication will foster the exchange of ideas in the ever-changing field of network and computer security.

In every issue of IT Defense, readers can expect to find editorial coverage on a diverse range of topics including vulnerability assessment, anti-virus programs, computer forensics, wireless security, patch management and biometrics.

Some of the most notable computer security experts and the brightest minds in the industry -- like Stephen Northcutt, Jim Stickley, Ron Koenig, and Mitchell Ashley -- will contribute with insightful and informative columns, articles and interviews. IT Defense will deliver analysis and insight on hot topics, best practices, technological advances and new products.

Impire Communications will continue to publish Secure Convergence Journal four times a year to reach that market. SCJ will be more directed toward products, solutions for convergence, tests, reviews, awards, and more.

We are also going one step further with the introduction of our own conference, IT Defense 2006, which will offer classes, keynote speakers, and a roundtable session. We will be hosting this conference in sunny Scottsdale, Arizona, for all to enjoy.

I will be attending the CSI show in Washington D.C. in November and will be available to meet with you. We can discuss any ideas that you may have, or questions regarding the new publication.

As our commitment to you, we will continue to build and grow our print and on-line resources, like ITSecuritySource.com. We hope these tools will allow you to better do your job, enjoy your job, and enjoy your life.

I am also proud to announce that Sondra Schneider of Security University.net is joining our editorial advisory board.

Enjoy the issue!
