Digi-Data Acquires BigVAULT
COLUMBIA, Maryland -- Digi-Data, a developer of high-availability, high-capacity storage solutions for fixed content applications, announced that it has acquired the assets of bigVAULT Storage Technologies, a provider of online storage and collaboration services. The acquisition leverages Digi-Data’s storage lineup and patented technologies with bigVAULT’s advanced online storage services technology to provide users and businesses with a cost effective service to save and protect unlimited amounts of music, videos, photos and important documents in a safe environment that can be easily and securely accessed from anywhere in the world.
bigVAULT, headquartered in Commack, NY, markets its electronic safety deposit box to individuals and businesses who want to securely store, backup, retrieve and share critical files of any type.

While bigVAULT adds a new dimension to Digi-Data’s product offering, the company will continue to enhance its products based on its patented STORM architecture (Storage On Redundant Modules). Digi-Data’s STORM based products scale to over 400 TB and are currently used in surveillance, archive and other fixed content markets.
